At a glance
Professional services consultancy firm Beca is one of the largest employee-owned businesses in the Asia-Pacific region.
With around 40% of their employees holding shares, Beca wanted to strengthen their relationships with these employee shareholders and help them engage actively with their equity. They needed an easy-to-navigate digital solution that would allow employees to interact with and understand their equity, accept shareholder offers, and access documents—all in one place.
The challenge: Deliver a customisable equity management platform to manage employee shares digitally, empower employees to know their equity options, and strengthen shareholder engagement.
The solution: A bespoke dashboard that speeds up share offer rounds, provides real-time reporting, and improves transparency and connection for employee shareholders.
The result: A more engaged employee shareholder base who are actively engaged with their holdings.
"With Sharesies Private, we can instantly see the uptake of shares as everyone electronically receives their offer and responds online. Our share registry team couldn’t believe the real-time reporting in the platform when they first saw it."

Financial Systems Manager, Beca Group
The challenge
Improve Beca’s employee shareholder experience
Before transitioning to Sharesies Private, Beca’s annual employee share offer was distributed and accepted manually. There were several challenges to this approach:
For Beca's share registry team, this was a highly labour-intensive and time-consuming process that involved sending around 1,100 copies of the offer acceptance packs each time.
Annual offer uptake was measured over the course of several months, once employees had reviewed, signed, and mailed back offer letters.
The whole process, from sending out offer letters to wrapping up the round, could take months to complete.
During this time, it was difficult for the registry team to know and report back on the status of offers in real-time.
Shareholders had no easy access to records relating to their own holdings, and needed to request access to their historic offer documents.
This led Beca to search for a customisable investor relations and digital registry solution to better connect with employee shareholders and free up their team.

The solution
Transform Beca’s employee shareholder experience
Beca worked closely with the Sharesies Business team to enable employees to receive and accept share offers instantly, and collated shareholder communications and information, in one online portal.
Digital access to share offers and shareholding documentation
Beca employee shareholders can now:
View and respond to share offer documents electronically, rather than by physical mail
Better understand their offer and funding options
View their existing holdings and historic offers in the Sharesies Private share registry platform, without needing to submit a request or search through emails or letters.

Speed up share offers and provide real-time reporting
The Sharesies Private dashboard now provides Beca’s executives and share registry team with:
The ability to make employee share offers electronically in minutes
Real-time reporting on how many employees accept the offer, saving months of time
The ability to share existing and historic offer documents with shareholders
