Still have questions?

You can invest in shares and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) listed on the NZX, ASX, Cboe Australia, NYSE, Nasdaq, and CBOE, plus select cryptocurrencies, US over-the-counter (OTC) investments, and managed funds from NZ fund providers. And soon, Sharesies-made funds.

Deciding what to invest in comes down to understanding four key things about your own situation: your goals, your investment timeframe, your risk tolerance, and your starting amount. If you'd rather not pick investments yourself, you can get an expert-made portfolio recommended to you with advised portfolios.

We withhold tax on the income you earn from NZ, US, and Australian listed investments held through Sharesies. There’s no tax on things like withdrawing money from your Sharesies Wallet to your bank account. Sometimes you may have other tax obligations—for example, we don’t withhold tax on crypto—so it’s your responsibility to ensure you’re paying the correct amount of tax. Learn more about tax.

Order processing times depend on a few things. Market hours, trading halts, and how many buyers and sellers are active all affect processing time. For limit orders, your order won't fill until the market reaches your set price (or better). Less liquid investments can also take longer to fill.
