Generally, an IPO made to New Zealand retail investors needs to meet disclosure and other requirements under New Zealand law, even if the offer is from another jurisdiction. These requirements are designed to protect investors who may be less experienced. The SpaceX IPO does not meet these legal requirements.
Because of this, Sharesies is only able to offer participation in the SpaceX IPO to wholesale investors registered with Sharesies.

Retail investor access to SpaceX
While we can’t offer participation in the initial public offering, all Sharesies customers, including retail investors in New Zealand, should be able to buy and sell SpaceX shares once the company is listed. This is expected to happen on 12 June (US time).
